Best Wedding Band Reviews

Bride & Groom auditioning the dance floor at Oheka Castle before the guests enter

Before we get to the reviews, here is a thank you note from the bride and groom pictured above. We performed at their wedding 3 days ago at Oheka Castle on Long Island:

Hi Bill (and NY Orchestra),                        Band video link

Thank you so much for the awesome performance you guys gave on Saturday. Mike and I are both still getting compliments and high praise for both the music during cocktail hour, the reception, and the DJ. The smooth transition between everything was amazing we didn’t even notice.

We also appreciate you letting those musically talented family members getting on stage and performing with you! We will have those memories forever – thanks to you guys.

All the best,
Christine & Mike

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome and more AWESOME!

Lauren said…We were recommended to Bill through a friend. From the minute we met him, we couldn’t be more impressed with his talent, enthusiasm and overall cool vibe! Bill made himself available to come to the venue prior to the wedding – he went above and beyond! Central Park Orchestra was everything we could have imagined and more! If you are looking elsewhere, look no further. Thanks, Bill!

Stefanie said…They were just great! Working with Bill was a dream. He was responsive, learned the songs that we asked and even learned a song so my husband could sing with the band one night. They also were open to having my Uncle perform two songs that were very special to us. People LOVED the band and I got compliments on them long after the wedding. Would HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!!!!!!

Stacey said…(the band) Central Park Orchestra and the quartet were off the charts at our wedding. It was non-stop music and everyone was on the dance floor. Not to mention they learned new songs for us AND were open to doing a custom mash-up for the father-daughter dance. I cannot recommend them enough. Bill makes the process super easy and thinks of everything for you- hugely helpful when you’re planning your own wedding.

Susanne said…This band is TERRIFIC! They can play anything you’d like, from Madonna to Bon Jovi to Tim McGraw to Josh Groban! It was definitely the perfect band, and they were professional and super easy to work with.

Meghan said…This was the easiest decision to make since my husband had worked at Oheka Castle and heard them play many times. They also played for a friend of ours wedding and based on those recommendations we didn’t look any further and booked. I can’t tell you how easy it was and how many people gave us compliments on them. They played during cocktail hour and at the reception and they were flawless, we were dancing the entire night and they can play pretty much anything. Even our wedding song which I was nervous would sound different, they nailed it. Highly recommend – just let them do their thing and make sure you add in the sax 😉

Michele said…Central Park Orchestra was an amazing asset to our wedding day! We had seen them at my cousin’s wedding 8 years ago and had to have them as well! They were wonderful to work with from beginning to end and were so helpful in choosing the right songs for the ceremony and reception. They even learned about 4 new songs just for our wedding! I couldn’t have asked for a better band! Thank you, Bill for answering all of my questions so quickly and for making our special day so wonderful!

We hired them again for our sons wedding last weekend, 10/15/16 and we had the same fabulous result!! I cannot recommend this band highly enough!

Wedding & Event Lighting

(Pictures at Oheka Castle on Long Island, NY taken at a recent wedding)
Wireless battery powered LED uplighting have become THE lighting to have at weddings and special events. These lights don’t have to be wired together or even plugged into a wall outlet. So, the set up is very clean and the actual lighting fixtures can be placed in areas where  they will go unnoticed.

Another great feature about these lights is you can choose any color in the RGBY spectrum to light up your wedding or event venue. Below are several pictures taken at a recent event at one of the most beautiful wedding venues on Long Island, Oheka Castle. We provided lighting in several rooms.

We can create a customized uplighting package for you designed for your venue with your creative ideas. All lighting packages come with a lighting technician who will control the lights throughout your event.

NYO Plays Fashion Week Concept Korea

“The show featured a powerful performance by the New York Orchestra” – The LA Fashion Magazine

New York Orchestras Entertainment was asked to provide a 20-piece all male orchestra for Fashion Week in NYC. The event titled “Concept Korea” fashion show, co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency  aka Kocca. The orchestra was conducted by the famous Korean composer Cho Wonhang (pictured above).

The event, at Pier 59 Studios in Chelsea Piers, featured three womenswear designers; Kim Tae-geun from YOHANIX, Kim Hee-jin from KIMMY J and Park Yoon-hee from GREEDILOUS. NYO Entertainment performed during the runway show while the models walked around the orchestra (see video link below).

The orchestra featured 20 virtuosi performers from around the world.  Bill Messinetti along with violinist Peter Kiral organized the musicians according to the request of composer Cho.  The composer requested six first violins, six second violins, three violas, three cellos and two contra-basses which suited his compositions.

The six hundred guests included many photographers, press, models as well as buyers from the fashion industry.

Taken from Billboard magazine article:While Hallyu, or the Korean Wave, predominantly revolves around pop cultural exports, the phrase extends to style, occasionally referred to as K-fashion. Because of their popularity, Korean actors and K-pop stars are regarded as trendsetters worldwide and several have made appearances at New York Fashion Week in the past. While prominent Korean stars were absent from Concept Korea this year, models walked down to several K-pop songs rearranged to match the accompaniment of the New York Orchestra, including Baauer’s “Temple” featuring M.I.A and G-Dragon, the frontman of K-pop boy band BIGBANG. The finale, “Good Boy” by G-Dragon and BIGBANG’s Taeyang was a fan favorite, with many audience-members opting to stay until the end of the performance to record one of Korea’s trendiest exports and post it on Instagram.

Oheka Castle Wedding

Central Park Orchestra performed at an Oheka Castle wedding on Long Island this past Friday. The band actually had 5 weddings coming up this fall at Oheka. If you have been to Oheka then, you know what an amazing venue it is!

In honor of the bride’s Chinese heritage, right after the bride and groom danced their first dance, the traditional Chinese Lion Dance was performed. There was a taiko drummer and 2 percussionists providing the rhythm while the “Lions” performed in bright red 15′ long lion costumes.

Another very cool and different event was the bride’s dance with her father (father/daughter dance). The band started with “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” (Hawaiian version) then went into “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5 and finally “Tik Tok” by Ke$ha. The guests went wild in cheers and joined them half way through “Tik Tok” as the band went into an hour-long contemporary dance set (as requested).

A family tradition was also carried out for the groom’s family. That was an extended version of “Shout” by the Isley Brothers. The band had the groom’s father, uncles and cousins going completely WILD!

Technical notes:

First dance song – Mario World 2-2

Cake Cutting song – L.O.V.E. by Nat King Cole

Song for groom and mom dance – Stay as Sweet as you Are – Nat King Cole

Medley for bride & dad – Somewhere Over the Rainbow, I Want You Back, Tik Tok

Band: 10-piece band including 2 female vocalists & 1 male vocalist up front, 3 other male vocalist/musicians on keyboards, guitar and drums, 3 horn players and a bass player

Lighting: Wireless LED lighting in the grand staircase and around the perimeter of the ballroom (Terrace Room) with a lighting technician changing lights to the music

Stage: 2-tiers 12′ deep by 24′ wide

St Jude Children’s Hospital Event

The annual “Gold Coast Cares for St. Jude” charity event took place this past Saturday evening at Oheka Castle on Long Island.  The castle’s owner Gary Melius, hosted the event. News 12 Long Island reporter Elisa DiStefano and her husband, ESPN and SiriusXM sportscaster Mo Cassara, acted as masters of ceremony. In her introduction speech, Elisa said this one event has raised over $1 million over the last 4 years!

Central Park Orchestra bandleader, Bill Messinetti said; “When you hear the stories of the incredible work St. Jude Children’s Hospital does, we are honored to be a part of this wonderful event and cause.”

New York Orchestras Entertainment have provided musicians, DJs and event lighting for literally hundreds of Oheka Castle weddings and events at  over the last 18 years.

Thank you goes out to the 340 guests who were so generous and gave approximately $300,000!

Five-Star Wedding Review

This wedding band review of Central Park Orchestra was posted on,  popular wedding blog and wedding website for brides and grooms searching for the best wedding bands and other wedding vendors.

Bill is a stand up guy and is easy to work with. He took notes and really went above and beyond to learn what we wanted for our wedding day/reception. And it paid off. The dance floor was packed the whole night. People kept raving about how good the music was and that they never stopped playing all night. They learned a few new covers for us and executed them with precision. The music at your wedding is the most important part in my opinion because that is what sets the tone and shapes the whole night. Central Park took our wedding to the next level and we couldn’t be happier and more appreciative about that. Even the bartenders and catering staff were dancing! What a night!
