Welcome 2015 Wedding!

New York Orchestras’ band Central Park Orchestra played in 2015 with a wedding at the Ridgewood Country Club in New Jersey.  The first songs the band played after the stroke of midnight were “Could You Be Loved”, a Bob Marley classic.  The theme of this reggae classic started everyone off in a great mood!  How could you not sing along with the chorus of that song? Then, it got funky with “Uptown Funk”, the latest hit from Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson.  The band’s 3-piece horn section really kicked this song into high gear!

Earlier in the evening the bride and groom, Jennifer and Brandon, entered the ballroom to “Signed Sealed Delivered” then danced their first dance “Mean To Me” by country artist Brett Eldredge. They took dance lessons so they danced the whole song alone (no guests invited).  “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift got the dance floor packed immediately after the first dance. “When all the people on the dance floor are singing, you know you’re playing the right song. It was actually the bride’s choice”, says bandleader Bill.

This couple had an eclectic mix of song choices.  The bride danced with her dad, a country club member, to “Something About The Way You Look Tonight” by Elton John.  The guests were taken by surprise when the father/daughter dance segued into “Happy” by Pharrell Williams.  The song for Brandon and his mom was “93 Million Miles” a Jason Mraz song.

The guests will never forget this wedding.  It was exciting fun on New Year’s Eve, dancing all night, balloon drop at midnight and breakfast-to-go on the way out.  Awesome!”

Jennifer and Brandon are now on their way to the beautiful Caribbean island of Nevis.

A special thank you to the warm staff at Ridgewood Country Club especially to the catering manager Victoria.
